Pakistan finished leather exports fall by 25%

During first quarter of the current financial year (July-September 2016), leather-sector exports from Pakistan fell by 9% in value compared to the same period a year ago to reach $236.3 million.

Over the period in question, tanners exported 3.4 million square-metres of finished leather, a decline in volume of more than 25% compared to a year ago. The decline in value of these exports was 12%, with $85.5 million coming in.

Leathergoods exports had a value of $125 million for the three-month period in 2016, a fall of 8% year on year
